The Archbishop of Kampala, Paul Ssemogerere has requested the management of St Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) to opposite its choice of appointing Bro. Augustine Mugabo as new college headteacher.

Mugabo, who has been the headteacher at St Henry’s College Kitovu was once just lately appointed via SMACK board and authorized via the Ministry of Education to switch Bro. Deodati Aganyira at SMACK.

It is known that Aganyira had on Tuesday, organised a handover rite for his successor, just for Ssemogerere to typhoon the college and block the instance.

Now, in line with a letter dated December 19, Ssemogerere has written to the Minister for Education, Janet Kataaha Museveni notifying her that the Catholic church is antagonistic to Mugabo’s appointment as new headteacher of SMACK.

In the letter, Ssemogerere says the appointment was once made with out notifying him and no longer following the due procedure which has been occurring for months since March this 12 months.

“To our dismay, this communication ignored the entire process of searching for a headteacher and the proposed candidates in the letter dated March 22, 2022 from the Archdiocese of Kampala’s education office (Ref.No. EA./08/2022),” Ssemogerere stated within the letter.

Furthermore, the archbishop says that, Mugabo these days being the headteacher of St Henry’s Kitovu, there’s want to keep his management on the college particularly right now that it starts a brand new century of offering secondary college schooling.

Ssemogerere, thus beneficial that SMACK management elevates the present deputy headteacher to headteacher of the college.

“We therefore highly recommend that Bro. Simon Mpanga who is the substancial deputy head teacher and has served at SMACK in that position for six years be appointed as new head teacher of St Mary’s College Kisubi,” Ssemogerere said.
