SONGEA District Commissioner Mr Polelet Mgema has directed water managers for Ruvuma Basin and Lake Nyasa within the area to staff up with environmental officials to keep water resources within the area.

Mr Mgema made the decision when addressing a rally at Mtyangimbole in Madaba District Council. He referred to as upon ‘wananchi’ to abstain from involving in actions that purpose destruction of water resources within the area.

He stated the water managers and different water government within the area must installed position strict measures to make sure higher control of water resources.

Mr Mgema stated the water government must additionally paintings in partnership with water communities within the area in dealing with water problems.

He stated lack of strict measures towards social actions that purpose destruction of water resources might ended in water wars amongst ‘wananchi’.

“If we don’t take strict measures to preserve our water sources, we will create water crisis in the near future because once the sources are deprived, people will have nowhere to access the precious liquid,” he stated.
