INEC says with the arriving of the remaining consignment in Abuja it has now taken supply of the desired quantity of BVAS machines for all polling devices within the nation.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has taken supply of its remaining consignment of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines.
INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, stated on Wednesday that the Commission’s Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, nationwide commissioners and senior officers took supply of the machines on Tuesday in Abuja.
He stated officers of the Nigeria Customs Service, the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company and airport safety officers had been readily available on the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja to obtain the INEC workforce.
“To facilitate the graceful supply of the machines, the fee created 4 airport hubs in Abuja, Kano, Lagos, and Port Harcourt.
“Over the last four months, several flights delivered the BVAS to the designated airports for movement to states of the federation ahead of the 2023 elections,” Mr Okoye instructed newshounds.
He stated with the arriving of the remaining consignment in Abuja on Tuesday, INEC had now taken supply of the desired quantity of BVAS machines for all polling devices within the nation.
