THE Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security has defended retaining the lighting fixtures on all over the night time at its new Hifikepunye Pohamba construction in Windhoek, announcing staff are operating additional time.
This is after The Namibian on Sunday posted {a photograph} of all the construction lit up after 21h00, an prevalence that takes position virtually day-to-day.
The ministry stated the construction’s lighting fixtures are programmed to robotically transfer off when workplaces aren’t occupied.
“However, due to the requirement for several staff members from critical divisions to work overtime and occupy the building in the evenings, the lights may be on at night,” the ministry stated.
The ministry emphasized that they take the accountable use of sources severely and can proceed to verify sources are safeguarded.
