Nairobi — The Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji is ready to enchantment to the verdict made via Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti acquittingformer Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko in a Sh20 million graft and cash laundering case.

Sonko used to be acquitted along co-accused individuals after the courtroom discovered their fees faulty.

Sonko confronted 13 graft-related fees in what the prosecution argued resulted in the lack of Sh20 million in a City Hall procurement scandal.

The prosecutor’s place of job argued the courtroom didn’t rule at the case’s deserves and core problems because it discovered that the fee sheet used to be unsuitable.

“The ODPP will appeal against the ruling of Hon. Ogoti delivered today acquitting all accused persons in the case of the former governor of Nairobi and others. Sonko and his industry spouse Antony Ombok have been exonerated in the ruling issued via Ogoti on Wednesday due to a loss of proof, with the Justice of the Peace characterizing the costs as unsuitable.

Ogoti mentioned no evidence of lack of monies used to be presented in courtroom.

Haji, alternatively, insisted that his place of job had enough evidence to exhibit the robbery of public money.

Haji added that on July 27, 2022, the prosecution had declared its case concluded after calling a complete of nineteen witnesses and offering 113 documentary reveals in give a boost to of its place.
